Stoatworks Flasher beta
Put firmware on our hardware, or any ESP32 image on any ESP32 board, over USB, straight from this tab. The images are checked here and written by your browser. Nothing is uploaded anywhere.
1 · Connect the board
- Plug the board's USB port into this computer.
- Press Connect and pick its serial port.
No port listed, or it will not connect?
Put it in download mode, where the board waits until it is flashed or reset:
- Hold BOOT (sometimes IO0).
- Tap EN or RESET.
- Release BOOT and press Connect.
A board with a USB-to-serial chip (CP2102, CH340) may also need that chip's driver on older systems. Tick show every serial port if it is on a chip this page does not list by default.
2 · Choose firmware
Any of these:
a release zip you downloaded from here or GitHub;
a whole-flash image (esptool merge-bin, or one of the .bin downloads below), which goes at 0x0;
or the parts of an ESP-IDF build: bootloader.bin, partition-table.bin,
ota_data_initial.bin and the app, or just the app on its own.
Each file is identified by its contents, not its name, and put where its kind belongs.
Anything else, a filesystem image say, waits for an offset you type: 0x3E0000,
1M, or a partition's name.

Downloads
Keep a copy so you don't need to download it each time. Open a release zip here later
under Your own file, or Burrow reads it too. Each .bin is the whole flash for one variant:
write it at 0x0 with this page, esptool (esptool.py write_flash 0x0 <file>) or
Espressif's own flash tool. esptool writes every byte of it, blank settings included, so the board forgets
its settings; this page writes only the parts and leaves them be.
Serial console
Watch the board boot. Opening the port can reset the board, and on some firmware the port goes away a few seconds after boot.
